God's unpredictable ways

Today Hubby was discouraged at work.An annual review of his performance just did not come out as positive and fair as he would have wanted it to.I was strangely encouraged this morning, prior to hearing the outcome of his review,by the history of David as written in 1 Samuel 29- 31

David never dared lift his hand against Saul, God's annointed king. Not because he honered Saul, but because he honoured and revered God.This piece of history reveals the predicament David found himself in - a real catch 22
He found a save haven among the Philistines, where he could hide and be safe from King Saul, who sought to kill him.Yet, his heart was for his kinsmen and the Philistines did not trust him to partake in their war on Israel. They actually sent him home, refusing him joining in the war on Saul.
...Surely, as the Lord liveth, thou hast been upright and thy going out and thy coming in with me in the host is good in my sight:for I have not found evil in thee since the day of thy coming unto me unto this day: nevertheless the lords(princes of the philistines) favour thee not. 1Sam 29:6

David was broken and devastated when he turned around, going 'home' to his Philistine city Ziklag, only to find that the Amalakites have burned the city and taken every woman and child captive. The men with him, who's families was taken captive, were ready to stone him .How much worse could things possibly become !?
An outcast from Israel
Not trusted or really welcome among the Philistines
Those closest to him, ready to stone him and blame him for their misfortune

I am sure David wrote a Psalm of anquish in this time, asking God: WHY ?

How unpredictable GOD is in the way He acts in our lives. David could never have thought that the very next day, God would allow Saul to be killed in battle. David was not even in sight to lift his hand against Saul, God's annointed.God opened the door wide and broad for David to become the biggest, most loved king ever of Israel.
But could David have known this, the day before, when he was facing being stoned by the men with him ?

Awesome ! Awesome how God works so unpredictably in the lives of His loved ones.
We can only be certain of His predictable Love for us- never wavering or changing, waxing or waning. But the way He works out His love in our lives, we can not fathom or predict. This is where FAITH comes in , We have to believe and trust God that HE is busy with a plan, a good wonderful plan for our lives.Even when we are on the verge of despair.

So ! I am praying and interceding for my dear husband. For God to move the hearts of the 'Kings' in his life to act in my husband's favour and according to that good and wonderful plan God has in mind for him.God loves him dearly, this I know.
