Making a Christmas-bed -tent in Ouma-Groot's flat. We slept there every night, going to bed loooong after the adults ran out of steam

Even in SA the mundane have to be done:Washing. The black is only
Henna, I was assured it will wash out before the school term starts...

The
'pricely sum' for an asortment Fireworks, found among Ouma-Groot's stuff

Unbelievable but true:All but one of the
Fireworks worked! We had great fun watching the Catherine-wheel and rockets being launched, active after an incredible 20 years or so

The 'now traditional'
Ratatouille Breakfast Cafe Menu caters for everyone

Waitress from the Ratatouille Cafe serves Ouma breakfast

The Ratatouille cooks in the kitchen. Where is
Aunt Desia to help with the dishes!...

Some
scarfs/ head-gear from Ouma-Groot's cupboard

This scarf with the
horses on was well remembered to have belonged to Ouma Desia

Some things found during the sorting of Ouma-Groot's flat. A nephew is moving into the flat soon and we had to pack away all
Ouma's goodies

The Newspaper clipping from
1967 when Oupa Daan passed away. Lovely Afrikaans poem underneath. Wedding photo of Ouma Desia and John Pringle

Mam and Boet with some really old coins we found. A
1917 British coin among them

Final
fruitcake ! Nuts were stirred in after cake in oven already (due to grandchildren causing Ouma's concentration to lapse) Ouma's got a shawl on found in OumaGroot's cupboard, just the thing for a nice chill outside during the braai

The making of the annual Christmas Fruit cake

In Loving memory:
Daddy's going onto the tree in a decorative frame

We enjoy unpacking and hanging all the deco's left us by the Canadian family last year..great memories!

Every meal starts with lamb and ends with lamb...

The final Trifle pudding.(See me trying out my Kersmark-dress bought for the festive season...)
